Introduction to Older Piece of Writing

The purpose of this piece was to inform the reader on the rising number of African American men and women getting killed due to police brutality. The intended audience were scholars, and researchers. The questions that I asked myself when writing this piece were how does lack of government discipline, racial tensions, and lack of training contributes to the killing of African American men and women. What I learned from this piece was that a lot of police officers who commit these crimes get little to no jail time, the victims receive unfair trials, and a lot of officers condone the shootings of unarmed African American men and women. The strengths of this piece were the sources, the thesis and introduction. The weaknesses of this piece where the conclusion. The only question I have is what the government plans to do about the rise in killings of African American men and women. This assignment affected my opinion of the term voice in writing by showing me the many different voices these authors have on this one opinion.
