The older piece of writing is a research analysis paper on the poem “Yet Do I Marvel” by Countee Cullen and is a piece I wrote my senior year in high school. I had a number of poems to choose from and I chose this one because I felt like I could write a strong essay about this poem. Its one of my best works in my senior English class and I think people will enjoy it.

The diagnostic essay is an important piece to me because its the first college English paper that I wrote. It shows how my writing my have not been that great and is the beginning piece of the progression that was made with my writing this year. I had a lot of problems with grammar and mechanics and my thesis and conclusion was not as clear as it should be. This essay was a wake up call and shows that I needed much improvement.

The music self essay was a new way of writing for me, I have written on poems, books, and articles but I have never had to write about a song. It really challenged me to look deep into myself to be able to explain to the reader how this song related to me.

My Research paper was one of my strongest pieces of the year. I really put a lot of work into this paper to make it as good as possible. Although Ive written a few research papers before this one was definitely the most challenging. I feel like this is better than all of those combined and really shows my progress when it comes to research.

The reflective essay is the last piece ill write this year and I feel like it is composed of everything Ive learned this year and is an improvement in every area. It also reflects on my progress and how I will continue to progress with the years to come.
